Most people think if they don’t get everything in pots by March the season is essentially over!! Not so there is always something to sow in the garden and June is no exception. So here are the Seeds to sow in June for tasty organic crops.
Growing Fennel in June
Fennel is easy to grow. They prefer full sun and a well drained soil. They will do best in rich soils.Water them during dry periods, once or twice per week. Add a general purpose fertilizer once or twice a season.
While classified as a herb, Fennel is a popular European vegetable too. Native to Mediterranean region, the bulbous base and stalk is popular eaten raw like celery, cooked, or boiled. You might have plants that are in the greenhouse or on the windowsill that could go out now – I have purple sprouting broccoli and cucumbers and cauliflowers.
